With significantly more bandwidth available, high-performance PCIe cards — such as 4K and 8K video I/O cards (supporting multiple channels and high frame rates), multiport 10Gb and 25Gb Ethernet adapters, and NVMe SSD cards — will perform even better than before.

Sonnet ultra-high speed Thunderbolt 5 interface upgrade cards provide the extra PCIe bandwidth needed to support most cards at maximum performance. One of two ports is reserved for connecting your computer, while the second port can connect Thunderbolt or USB peripheral devices.

15 watts is provided to bus-powered USB or Thudnerbolt devices requiring extra power through the secondary Thunderbolt port.
