improves speed and confidence in the installation and maintenance of wiring whether it is for power, telecommunication, alarm or control.

EASYTEST400
can transmit either three continuous tracing tones (SOLID) or two alternating tones (ALT). The Solid or the Alt function is easily selected from the front panel using the ALT and SOLID buttons. An LED beside each button indicates the selected function. To start or stop the tone, first use the ON/OFF button to switch the unit on, then select the trace tone. The unit can be connected to send the trace tone to any kind of cable, including a live telephone line. The unit is protected to 120 Vac in TONE mode and up to 240 Vac in CONT mode.

EASYTEST400
provides durable alligator clips and snag-proof modular plugs for both RJ11 and RJ45 with strain relief for reliability. The special RJ11 modular plug has protection slots for pins 1 and 8 that will fit RJ45 jacks without damaging them. If the RJ45 plug is inserted into an active LAN jack in the CONT mode, the CONT LED will pulse brightly and the associated link activity light on the conventional LAN hub or switch will begin to blink. In the CONT position EASYTEST400 leads and RJ11 plug will indicate short circuits (zero ohms to 100KOhm).

will indicate the status of a connected telephone line including: service voltage presence and polarity, idle line, busy line, and incoming ringing.

The capacitive
PROBE410
(U.S. PROBE310) is highly sensitive and works well with EASYTEST400 or any other tone generator to identify and trace wires or cables. The two-position HIGH and LOW volume switch is constructed with a highly dust and moisture resistant mylar membrane for easy, reliable operation. With the HIGH button depressed the PROBE410 can detect a traced cable at lateral distances of up to 100 cm. A more precise location of specific wires is usually done with the LOW button. No user experimentation with volume control knobs is needed. The additional red DATA LED allows the detection of active ISDN BRI (UK0) lines without any additional equipment (only Probe410).

The Probe410 has a special green LED indicator for use with Kurth EasyTest tone units. This indicator only lights when signals from EasyTest units are detected and has the effect of blocking interfering signals like power hum. The bright, color-correct LED on the probe snout eliminates the need for a separate flashlight in dark spaces.

The probe’s conductive tip is molded of a plastic and carbon fiber composite, preventing shorts and other disturbances to lines. This composite probe tip is nearly unbreakable and is easily changed without opening the case. The slender shape allows high precision tracing of pairs, whether in tight bundles or high density wiring blocks.

To increase audibility or reduce noise the Probe410 can be used with the optional, light-weight earpiece.
