The Extralink OPIM-1500W inverter is a device that converts the output voltage of a battery (direct current, DC) into 230V AC (alternating current) power. 230V AC is the type of electricity supplied by public utilities to power standard household appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, radios, lighting, or to charge laptops and mobile phones.

If you have a charged battery, connecting the inverter allows you to power household devices in areas without access to the electrical grid, such as in a camper, caravan, boat, plot of land, or other remote locations. Inverters are also ideal for off-grid systems and backup power systems in case of unexpected power outages.

This is a modified sine wave inverter, which means that the 230V AC output is an approximated sine wave. This solution is cheaper than pure sine wave inverters; however, due to the characteristics of the output current, it is not recommended for use with inductive motors, such as those used in central heating systems.

The advantages of the modified inverter include a less complicated design, which translates to fewer potential failure points and a lower price.

The presented model can generate 1500W of continuous power and up to 3000W of peak power. The reserve capacity during peak is useful if starting a device requires more energy than its continuous operation.

Additionally, the inverter features a USB port for powering USB-compatible devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops, or MP3 players.
